Educational Qualification

Administrative Assistant / Scientific Administrative Assistant / Field Worker:

Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized institute/University.


Project Assistant (Science-based projects):

Bachelor's Degree in Science (Wildlife Science, Zoology, Ecology, Marine Sciences, Marine Biology, Environmental Sciences, Geoinformatics, Life Sciences, Agricultural or Forestry Sciences).


Project Assistant (Social Science):

Bachelor's Degree in any Social Science discipline (Geography, Statistics, Economics, Public Administration, Personnel Management, Environmental Management, Social Work, Anthropology)


Project Associate-I:

Four-Year Bachelor's Degree (as per NEP) or Master's Degree in Natural Sciences (Wildlife Science, Zoology, Ecology, Marine Sciences/Biology, Environmental Sciences, Geoinformatics, Life Sciences)/Agricultural/Forestry Sciences, OR Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science.


Project Associate-II:

Four-Year Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Natural Sciences/Agricultural Sciences with 2 years' relevant R&D experience, OR BVSc with 2 years' experience, OR Bachelor's in Engineering/Technology (CS/IT/Remote Sensing/GIS/Data/Electrical/Electronics/AI) with 2 years' experience.


Senior Project Associate:/

Four-Year Bachelor's Degree with 4 years' R&D experience, OR Master's Degree with 4 years' R&D experience, OR a Doctoral Degree in Wildlife Science/Zoology/Ecology/Life Sciences.

Selection Process

Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of essential qualification, age limit, percentage of marks, specialization relevance, research experience, and publications will be called for the online interview. The marking criteria is different for every post category is as below.

a) Field/Lab/Project Assistant Category (Total: 50 Marks)

  • % Marks in Bachelor's Degree: 25 Marks
  • Specialization relevance to the project (via internship, volunteering, or work experience): 25 Marks

b) Project Associate-I Category (Total: 50 Marks)

  • % Marks in Master's Degree: 25 Marks
  • Specialization relevance to the project: 25 Marks

c) Project Associate-II / Senior Project Associate / Principal Project Associate / Project Scientist Category (Total: 50 Marks)

  • UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET with JRF or WII-NET Passed: 5 Marks
  • % Marks in Post-Graduation: 25 Marks
  • Research/Work Experience: 10 Marks
  • Publications (journals, conferences, book chapters): 10 Marks

The top 10 shortlisted candidates for each advertised project/position will be called for an online interview. Meeting the minimum qualification does not guarantee an interview call. The Institute's decision on eligibility, shortlisting, and selection is final.
