Note: For Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Pharmacology, if MD/MS/DNB medical-teacher candidates are unavailable as per new NMC-TEQ norms, eligible non-medical candidates may be considered for those posts.
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: As per the NMC-TEQ (Minimum Qualifications for Teachers in Medical Institutions) Regulations dated 30 June 2025.
- Medical Council Registration: Valid/renewed registration with any State Medical Council in India as on the last date of application. Not mandatory for non-clinical subject candidates holding MSc(Medical)/PhD(Medical).
- Nationality: Indian citizen, or a Tibetan refugee who arrived before 1 January 1962 intending to settle permanently, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries with intent to permanently settle in India (eligibility certificate required).
- Preferential Qualifications: Minimum 2 years' service in the Territorial Army, or an NCC 'B' Certificate, gives preference when candidates are otherwise equal.
- Character & Conduct: Must be suitable for government service; no history of dismissal from government/local body service or moral turpitude convictions.
- Marital Status: Standard government service norms regarding bigamy/polyandry apply.
- Physical & Mental Fitness: Must be certified fit by the prescribed Medical Board before appointment.

Age Relaxation
- Uttarakhand SC/ST/OBC candidates: 5 years relaxation in maximum age.
- Dependents of Uttarakhand Freedom Fighters: 5 years relaxation.
- Uttarakhand Divyangjan (differently-abled) candidates: 5 years relaxation.
- Ex-servicemen: relaxation equal to their actual period of military service, subject to conditions.

Important: Private-sector experience does not count. Only experience in State/Central Government or Autonomous Government hospitals and Government Medical Colleges is valid for marks, and only for complete years (365 days) beyond the minimum required qualification.
Reservation & Horizontal Reservation
Reservation is applicable only to permanent residents of Uttarakhand. Horizontal reservation percentages (against available vacancies) include:
