Eligibility Criteria (Who can apply?)
The UKSSSC has kept the baseline qualifications pretty simple, but it is highly recommended to check the specific requirements for your desired post in the official notification.
- Basic Education: You must have passed Class 12 (Intermediate) or hold an equivalent qualification recognized by the Uttarakhand Board of School Education or the state government.
- Typing Skills: Almost all posts require a minimum Hindi typing speed of 4,000 Key Depressions Per Hour (KDPH) on a computer.
- Post-Specific Requirements:
- Computer Assistant, Junior Assistant-cum-Computer Operator, Computer Operator: knowledge of MS Office is also required, and for Computer Operator posts a minimum 6-month computer course is required.
- Pravar Sahayak/Senior Assistant (BRIDCUL): Intermediate with minimum typing speed of 25 WPM in Hindi and 30 WPM in English, well-versed in MS Office, minimum 5 years' experience in a Government/Semi-Government/Public Sector/reputed Ltd. company, and at least 3 years served in the relevant post/grade immediately below the post applied for.
- Junior Assistant (Transport Dept.): candidate must additionally be registered with an employment exchange located in Uttarakhand.
- Telephone Operator (Raj Bhavan Secretariat): preference given to candidates with experience operating an EPBX system.
- Junior Assistant (Uttarakhand Judicial & Legal Academy) and Store Keeper: a one-year diploma in computer operation is also required.

Age Limit
The date for age calculation is 1 July 2026.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern
Selection involves two stages: a written objective-type competitive exam, followed by a qualifying typing test for candidates shortlisted on the written exam.
- Written Exam: This is a single, 2-hour objective-type test worth 100 marks. It includes General Hindi (20 marks), Uttarakhand General Knowledge (40 marks), and General Studies/Knowledge (40 marks). Be careful—there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer! Minimum qualifying marks are 45% for UR/EWS/OBC and 35% for SC/ST.
- Typing Test: If you clear the written exam, you will take a qualifying typing test. This test does not add to your final score; it just proves you meet the speed requirements.

The General Knowledge & General Studies (40 marks) covers General Intelligence Test & Reasoning, History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, National & International Current Affairs, and Fundamentals of Computers.
General Hindi carries 20 marks. and General Knowledge of Uttarakhand carries 40 marks.
There will be negative marking of one-fourth (0.25) of the marks for each wrong answer assigned to that question.

Candidates scoring below this are treated as not qualified. After the written exam, a typing test is conducted as a qualifying stage (not counted toward merit marks) to verify the minimum typing speed required for the specific post.
Final merit is prepared on marks obtained in the written exam only. In case two or more candidates score equal marks, seniority is decided first by age (older candidate ranked higher) and, if age is also equal, by alphabetical order of name.

EWS reservation is available only to candidates who do not already claim SC/ST/OBC reservation, and requires an EWS certificate issued between 01.04.2026 and the last date of application, based on 2025–26 income for financial year 2026–27. If a candidate claims reservation in a particular category but does not meet the unreserved-category merit cut-off, they will not be adjusted into the unreserved list unless declared eligible on that basis.
How to Apply Online
Ready to apply? Just follow these steps:
- Go to the official UKSSSC website: www.sssc.uk.gov.in.
- Register using your [Government ID Redacted] (each ID can only be used once), your mobile number, and your email ID.
- Fill out your personal, educational, and category details.
- Upload a scanned color passport photo, signature, and left thumb impression in JPG/JPEG format.
- Pay the fee online and print your final application form for your records.
Important Documents: Keep your Class 10 certificate, category/domicile certificates, and an NOC (if you are already a government employee) handy for verification.
Candidates should note down their registration number, since it is required for all further steps. After the last date, a one-time edit window (12.10.2026 to 14.10.2026) is provided to correct the application, but candidates cannot change their name, mother's/father's name, date of birth, or exam centre during this correction window.

Other Important Conditions
- A candidate can submit only one online application per post; multiple applications for the same post will result in rejection of all such applications.
- Candidates must be registered at a Seva Yojan (employment) office in Uttarakhand by the last date of application, or hold a valid domicile/permanent resident certificate of Uttarakhand, or have passed their qualifying exam from an institution recognised in Uttarakhand - one of these is mandatory for candidates applying from outside the purview of the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission.
- A No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer is mandatory for candidates already working in Central/State Government or a public sector undertaking, to be submitted before document verification.
- A male candidate with more than one living wife, or a female candidate who has married a man who already has a living wife, is not eligible for direct recruitment.
- Marks obtained in the written exam will not be shared with candidates before the completion of the selection process.
- Candidates are not permitted to carry mobile phones, cameras, calculators, pagers, or any electronic device inside the examination centre.
