Pay Scale and Benefits

Selected candidates will receive salaries in accordance with the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) recommendations adopted by the Uttarakhand State Government:

In addition to the entry pay, employees receive admissible allowances (DA, HRA, etc.) and retirement benefits as per applicable Uttarakhand State Government orders adopted by the university.

Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications

1. Assistant Professor

• General Disciplines (Agriculture, Sciences, Humanities, Community Science, Fisheries):
  • Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the relevant/allied discipline.
  • Cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC, ICAR, or CSIR, or an accredited test like SLET/SET.

  • Candidates with a Ph.D. degree complying with UGC Regulations are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
• Engineering & Technology Disciplines:
  • B.E. / B.Tech / B.S. and M.E. / M.Tech / M.S. or Integrated M.Tech in relevant branch with First Class or equivalent in at least one of the degrees.
• Veterinary and Animal Sciences:
  • B.V.Sc. & A.H. from a VCI-recognized institution along with valid State/Central Veterinary Council registration.
  • Master's degree in the concerned subject with at least 55% marks, plus NET or an eligible Ph.D.

2. Associate Professor

• Ph.D. degree in the concerned, allied, or relevant discipline.
• Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
• Minimum of 8 years of teaching and/or research experience in an academic/research position equivalent to Assistant Professor.
• Minimum of 7 publications in peer-reviewed, NAAS-rated, or UGC-listed journals (or minimum 6 SCI/AICTE/UGC-approved publications for Engineering branches).
• Minimum cumulative Research Score of 75 as per the university's prescribed screening criteria.
• For Engineering Posts: First class at Bachelor's or Master's level, plus at least 2 years of post-Ph.D. experience.

Important Qualification Relaxations

• A 5% relaxation (from 55% to 50%) at both Bachelor’s and Master’s levels is provided to SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and Differently-Abled candidates.
• The relaxation applies solely to qualifying examination marks and does not cover grace marks.

Crucial Reservation Rules for Uttarakhand Candidates

Because this notification addresses backlog reserved vacancies:

• The benefits of reservation (SC, ST, OBC) are strictly admissible only to permanent residents (domicile holders) of Uttarakhand.
• Reserved category applicants from other states are considered under the Unreserved (General) category.
• Horizontal reservation applies to eligible Uttarakhand female candidates, persons with benchmark disabilities, dependents of freedom fighters, ex-servicemen, and orphans as per state government norms.

How to Apply: Step-by-Step Offline Guide

1. Download the Prescribed Forms:
   • For Associate Professor: Complete Annexure I and II.
   • For Assistant Professor: Complete Annexure III and IV.
2. Affix Photograph: Paste a recent passport-sized photograph on the application form and self-attest across it.

Selection Process

1. Screening & API Scoring: The screening committee verifies eligibility and evaluates candidate academic and research performance scores.
2. Shortlisting: Shortlisted candidates are invited for the interview stage at a ratio of 10 times for the first vacancy and 5 times for every subsequent vacancy.
3. Assessment: Depending on the post and discipline, the university may conduct a written test, qualifying test, or subject presentation.
4. Final Interview: The final merit ranking is determined strictly on the basis of performance in the interview (Associate Professor interviews carry a maximum of 20 marks).
