What Qualifications Are Required to Apply?

1. Agriculture, Community Science, Basic Sciences & Humanities, and Fisheries

• Master’s Degree: A Master’s level degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent point scale grade) in the concerned, relevant, or allied discipline from an accredited Indian or foreign institution.
• National Eligibility Test (NET): Must have qualified the National Eligibility Test conducted by UGC, ICAR, or CSIR, or an accredited equivalent (such as SLET/SET).
• Ph.D. Exemption: Candidates holding a Ph.D. under UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016 (including pre-2009 candidates meeting coursework and open-viva benchmarks) are exempt from NET/SLET/SET. Candidates with a doctorate from a foreign institution ranked among the Global Top 500 (QS, THE, or ARWU) are also directly qualified.

2. College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences

• A foundational B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree from an institution recognized by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI), supported by active State or Central Veterinary Council registration.
• A relevant Master’s degree (minimum 55% marks) combined with NET qualification, or a recognized Ph.D. degree.

3. College of Technology (Engineering Disciplines)

• Formulated under AICTE Regulation 2019: First Class or equivalent in either B.E. / B.Tech. / B.S. OR M.E. / M.Tech. / M.S. (Integrated M.Tech.) in the relevant technical stream.

4. College of Agribusiness Management (CABM)

• A Bachelor's degree in any discipline coupled with a First Class Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), PGDM, CA, ICWA, or M.Com., alongside a minimum of two years of professional post-PG experience.

Standard Grade Relaxations

• A 5% mark relaxation (from 55% to 50%) at both the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree levels is available to SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and Differently-Abled applicants.
• A 5% concession is also extended to Ph.D. holders who completed their Master’s degree prior to September 19, 1991.

The Two-Stage Selection Process: Screening Matrix & Interview

Final selection is determined entirely by performance in the personal interview. However, interview call letters are restricted to candidates who rank highest on an objective 100-Point Academic and Research Score Sheet.

Stage 1: Academic & Research Screening Matrix (100 Marks Max)

• Graduation: Up to 15 Marks
• Post-Graduation: Up to 25 Marks
• M.Phil.: Up to 7 Marks
• Ph.D.: 30 Marks (Note: M.Phil. and Ph.D. combined score is capped at 30 marks)
• NET with JRF: 7 Marks | NET: 5 Marks | SLET/SET: 3 Marks (Capped at 7 marks)
• Research Publications: Up to 10 Marks (2 marks per published paper in peer-reviewed, NAAS-rated, or UGC-listed journals)
• Teaching / Post-Doctoral Experience: Up to 10 Marks (2 marks per completed year)
• Academic Honors / Awards: Up to 3 Marks (National/International: 3; State-level: 2)

Candidates are shortlisted for interview at a ratio of 10 times the vacancies for the first seat, and 5 times for each subsequent vacancy in that specific subject discipline.

Stage 2: Personal Interview (20 Marks Max)

The final merit rank is generated exclusively from the 20 interview marks. At its discretion, the university may also conduct a written qualifying paper or practical classroom presentation to evaluate pedagogical skills.
